Victor Engvall – Swedish UI/UX designer turning complexity into clarity, one interface at a time.
My Journey into UI/UX
My path into UI/UX was not a direct one—it was shaped by exploration, curiosity, and a gradual shift from designing for print to digital. Early on, I experimented with web design through my own company, and later, a pivotal career move led me to fully immerse myself in digital product design. The turning point came when I transitioned from Biltema to Intersolia, leaving behind packaging and print materials to fully focus on the digital space.
At Intersolia, I was headhunted as an Art Director, but placed within the business development team, where I became involved in creating a new SaaS system—my first real introduction to UI/UX.
I gained hands-on experience in digital product design and discovered a deep passion for UI/UX.
I fully committed to the field and completed a 26-week UI/UX Bootcamp with Memorisely, gaining a strong foundation in best practices.
Now, armed with experience, curiosity, and a solid skillset, I’m ready to take on the UI/UX world—one beautifully designed interface at a time (and while having fun, of course).
What Drives Me
I love taking something complex and simplifying it, whether that means shaping a clear user flow out of a messy system or finding the simplest way to communicate an idea. That moment when everything clicks into place for the user, that’s what excites me most about UI/UX.
Some of the things I value most in my work are:
Turning rough ideas into tangible, testable solutions
Collaborating with others to shape meaningful products
Creating interfaces that feel calm, intuitive, and trustworthy
Beyond Design
Even though work and career matter a lot to me, there are things in life that matter even more. Being a present parent and taking care of myself help me show up as my best self at work. Finding balance isn’t always easy, but it’s something I actively work on. Here are a few things that help me find it:
Motion fuels my creativity—running helps me clear my mind and unlock new ideas. Paired with a good night’s sleep, it brings fresh perspectives.
Adventure travel has shaped me—I’ve explored Alaska, Svalbard, and climbed Sweden’s highest mountain. Nowadays, with small kids, I enjoy nature in a different way, embracing calmer adventures.
Having moved back to the town where I grew up, I feel a strong connection to my hometown and community. I care deeply about my local area and hope to use my skills to give back and contribute to local businesses and society.
